Let’s look at how to combine two images in Photoshop using the Generative Fill tool! It’s quick, easy, and extremely powerful. All while still offering the freedom to mask and edit your image perfectly.
First, place two images on top of each other.
Select the seam of the images using the Rectangular Marquee tool.
Hit Generate in the context bar without filling in a prompt. Photoshop will connect and blend the two images in a way that makes the most sense.
You maybe have to hit generate multiple times to get a good result.
Depending on the result, you can use the “Generative Fill” layers’ Layer Mask to mask away and blend back some of the original images underneath.
In this example, we return the subject’s original face while keeping the interesting hair design.
Alternatively, you can use generative fill to connect and combine two images in Photoshop. Place the images you want to combine next to each other but leave an empty canvas section between them.
Select the space and part of both images using the Rectangular Marquee tool.
Hit Generate in the context bar without filling in a prompt. Photoshop will connect the two images, considering both lighting and perspective.
Combining two images in Photoshop using the Generative Fill tool is a breeze. Just remember to hit Generate a few times until you get a happy result. And even if it’s imperfect, don’t worry – you can always use it as a jumping-off point! With a bit of tweaking, masking, and blending, you’ll be able to achieve the perfect outcome every time.
